At Lichfield District City of Sanctuary we work hard to ensure that everyone feels welcome. But that’s not all we do. As well as taking action to improve the welfare of people visiting and living in Lichfield, and as well as fundraising, we also do some serious friendraising.
What does that even mean?
It means that not only do we make others feel welcome, but we also enjoy the benefits of new friendships and fun as part of our work.
Earlier this month, all members were invited to eat, drink and dance with other members at a Ceilidh held at Curborough Community Centre. It was an opportunity for everyone to get to know other members and enjoy their company. Over 40 members and supporters joined in at the event. From age 4 to age 84! They brought delicious food to share & danced the afternoon away to the Mucky Ducks Ceilidh Band! Even the ‘non-dancers’ couldn’t help but dance. Lichfield residents of the local refugee community (who are not members) were invited as guests & joined in the fun as well as our membership.
