AGM on Saturday 20 June 2026

The annual general meeting of Lichfield District City of Sanctuary brought together more than 50 members on June 20 at Wade Street Church.

We celebrated our achievements over the past year and highlighted the areas we still need to work on to make Lichfield a safe and welcoming place for all.

A lot of warm words were said at the meeting as some of our valuable members stepped back from their roles. The organisation is grateful to Warren Bardsley, Neil Kemp, and Nigel Gann for their hard work and help to all people for whom Lichfield became a new home.

We also welcomed new trustees – Samantha Ng and Mike Burdes. Their expertise and a desire to make Lichfield a better place will undoubtedly strengthen our team.

We are also grateful to Mariana Karasel (KarMa art studio) and Robert Francis (Move Mojo) for keeping children busy during the meeting.

And, of course, the event could not have happened without the exceptional organising skills of Cathy Wood and all our volunteers!

The event confirms that Lichfield District City of Sanctuary is growing and going to help resettled communities as long as it’s needed.

Lichfield District City of Sanctuary and Lichfield Garrick Theatre gathered Syrian and Turkish food, homemade bread, jewellery, scented candles, Ukrainian books, beauty services, singers, musicians, and much more for you to enjoy!
